Bob Burger is well known on the Jersey Shore for his skill in composing hook-laden songs, as well as for the energy and emotion of his live performances. To date, he has released five solo albums, as well as an additional five albums for JEM Records as a founding member of The Weeklings, along with bandmate and long-time song writing collaborator, Glen Burtnik. Bob’s live shows feature his original music, as well as a spectrum of classic rock material with selections by scores of premier artists. The Weeklings shows include a variety of Beatles-inspired Burtnik/Burger compositions, along with near-perfect renditions of Fab Four favorites and previously unreleased Lennon / McCartney / Harrison songs. Since 2015, Bob has been a standing member of Max Weinberg’s Jukebox, performing to sold out crowds at concert venues all over America and Europe. He has also brought together top Jersey Shore musicians such as Jimmy Leahey, Jerry Gaskill (of King’s X), Lisa Sherman, John Merjave, Joe Bellia, Arne Wendt, PK Lavengood, Ralph Notaro, Jon Rogers and Mitch Burger to join him in shows paying tribute to some of the artists who have influenced his music, including Fleetwood Mac, Elvis Costello and Tom Petty.
Bob is a seasoned songwriter having written songs for national recording artists Styx, Donnie Iris, Glen Burtnik, Bobby Bandiera, Kasim Sulton and others. He earned a Gold Record award along with Glen Burtnik for co-writing the title cut of the Styx Edge of the Century album, and other Burtnik/Burger songs are featured on the Styx Greatest Hits ā Part 2 and Cyclorama collections. In performance, Bob has played with Sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett, Roger Waters, Max Weinberg, Southside Johnny and many more.
Beyond his resume as a singer/musician among the rock ānā roll elite, Bob’s other accomplishments extend to careers as a copyright and technology attorney and computer software consultant. At college age with an interest in recording and electronic music, Bob earned a degree in electrical engineering, graduating as valedictorian of the engineering class at Penn State University. He later continued his studies in the field of intellectual property law at Rutgers Law School. After earning a J.D. degree with honors, Bob joined the premier New Jersey firm, McCarter & English, LLP, where he continues to practice technology and entertainment law as Special Counsel.
